CHEERS TO 25 YEARS!!


Granny's Closet is in its 25th year of helping seniors and adults with disabilities in Anoka and Sherburne counties!!!  What started out as one person's personal mission to give to seniors in need at Christmas time has grown into what our fantastic program is today.  We thank all of our supporters and volunteers for your continued generosity & kindness.  Without you we would not be where we are today!

FEBRUARY COLLECTIVE CARING

Wow!! The The Landmark of Fridley was our February Collective Caring Drive sponsor, and they went above and beyond! We couldn't be more thankful and know these household supplies will go to great use to the individuals that rely on us. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!​​
 

Volunteer's of the Year - Shelly and Dawn! 

Our first ever Volunteer-of-the-Year awards were given to two rockstars, Shelly and Dawn! As many of you know, Granny's Closet - MN is fully volunteer supported, with no paid board members or warehouse employees. We wouldn't be where we are today without ALL of our amazing volunteers, but wanted to give special shout out to these fabulous ladies!​

 

JANUARY COLLECTIVE CARING

Our January Collective Caring Sponsor, the City of Circle Pines, dropped off some much needed cleaning supplies this last week! Additionally, they have offered to be a continuous drop-off site for new/unused household cleaning supplies! Sending a huge thank you to them for being such an amazing partner and helping us stock our shelves ☺️❤

 

Sadie's National Honor Society Donations!
We received some amazing donations from a local Andover high schooler, Sadie! Sadie collected items from family, friends and neighbor for Granny's Closet as part of her volunteer hours for National Honors Society. Her generosity is felt throughout our organization. When she’s not collecting donations for Granny’s Closet, she enjoys being an NHS member and figure skating!
 

2023 Anoka Highlights: 
Thank you to all of the volunteers, Angel's, and the amazing community that made the 2023 Anoka Angel program such an success! Over 1100+ individuals were served from the Anoka Angel program!   We truly felt the love from everyone involved, we couldn't have done it without YOU! 




Panera Volunteers!
What a great group of amazing volunteers! Panera Bread managers from different cities across Minnesota came and volunteered at our warehouse In February. Thankful is an understatement!
 

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner! 
Granny's Closet - MN is proudly volunteer-run, and we celebrated our warehouse and board volunteers with an appreciation dinner this past week! We are SO grateful for anyone who has volunteered for our organization, we wouldn't be 26 years strong without YOU!!​

 

Spring Cleaning Baskets with Connections Church!
Connections Church partnered with us and did a cleaning supply drive in April, and then we spent the day last Sunday with families from their congregation putting together spring cleaning baskets! Thank you to all who donated and helped put these together, we know these will brighten someone's day!!

 

Bi-Annual Benefit Sale - Come Visit Us on 6/7 & 6/8!

Our ​bi-annual benefit sale is this Friday, 6/7 and Saturday 6/8 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Come shop for gently used clothes for $1, or new items for $3, all proceeds support our organization!

Granny's Closet - MN is so grateful for our community, and Shekinah #52, Royal Arch Masons for their generous donation from their fundraising dinner they had recently. A huge thank you for their support!

Pizza Ranch Andover Community Night Success!
We had a blast at Pizza Ranch last Monday bussing tables, cleaning up after close, and chatting with their wonderful guests about Granny's Closet. We raised $450 to help stock our shelves!! Thank you to Pizza Ranch Andover for donating 10% of sales and tips, and our AMAZING volunteers who helped us make the event a success!!


 

COLLECTIVE CARING - OCTOBER

Our October Collective Caring Drive was beyond a success with the help of St Andrew's Church and the Anoka Women of Today! New sweatpants and sweatshirts were donated to stock our warehouse for months to come. Thank you everyone at St. Andrews and Anoka Women of Today, we are so thankful for your support!

2023 Sherburne Highlights: 

Thanks to our volunteers who helped make this another successful year!!  We gifted 180 clients.  Many thanks to Guardian Angels for the use of their meeting room at Angel Ridge for drop off and pick up.  So many complimentary comments from our Angels thanking us for this program and that they loved being an Angel and look forward to next year!
